PostHeaderIcon So....What the Hell Happened?

I've never been happy with how this ended.  Too many blogs just stop posting with no reason or explanation, leaving all ten of their readers wondering, "What the hell happened?"

The short answer is this: We gave up.

We ran Thunder Matt's Saloon for a handful of years and written over 1,000 posts.  Over that time we added new writers and even abandoned the blog for a new venture before deciding that was a terrible idea and coming back to the original.  When things started feeling stale we felt it was time to start a new site and thus Exile On Clark was created.  But it wasn't staleness that was the issue.  It was burnout.  Most of us just couldn't do it any more.  And while some of us tried our best to keep things going, those attempts inevitably proved futile.

So nearly six months since our last post, here I am to offer closure and an assurance that this site is in fact, dead.

It was a phenomenal time while it was going.  I still go back and read a lot of the posts from the TMS days and laugh my ass off.  But the writings from what I consider one of the most amazing ragtag group of writers ever assembled are now part of a bygone era.  We got too busy, too old, too focused on real life, or just too lazy to continue.

Not that some of us haven't tried.  Even I can't completely give it up.  I've written sparsely at Terrible Cubs Fan this year.  Emphasis on sparsely.  Carruthers is still going strong at his site Wasting Away in Wrigleyville.  Wolter is still chronicling the endless punching of Hitler.  Some of the others may have something going on too but I don't remember, or care, but mostly remember.

So that's it.  Closure.  This site is officially dead.  It's not coming back.  So end your hunger strikes already.

Good bye all ten of our readers and thanks for reading.
