PostHeaderIcon Two Minutes of Hate: the 2011 Cubs, Higher Prices, Same Crappy Product

Dear Mr. Ricketts,

Apparently the massive blocks of empty seats last year meant nothing.  The fact that I could still go Cubs.com in August or September and still buy tickets for a game and actually get two or more seats together (unheard of just a few years back) was lost on you.  The fact that this team was shit last year and the only additions you've made this offseason is one starting pitcher, a stopgap at 1B and Kerry Wood doesn't seem to deter you from shoving your fist further up the fan's ass.

You still managed to raise ticket prices.

Now, Cub fans have five wonderful pricing tiers for games.  This newly added fifth tier, the "Marquee" games brings things to ricockulous levels of greed.  $72 for a bleacher seat is ridiculous.  Also this new tier gives you the bonus of making more games that normally would have been "Gold" prices become "Platinum".

Your team hasn't won a fucking championship in over a century.  They haven't even seen a World Series in over half a century and yet you charge the most money on average in all of baseball for your shitty inferior product.

Clearly you're no better than the Tribune Co.  Let me know how those unsold tickets work out come August.  Maybe I'll catch a game for $1.49 when your miserable ballclub's ticket prices crash on Stubhub like they did last year.

If your goal was to alienate the fans that truly do love this team no matter what, you're doing a bang up job.

Kindly go fuck yourself.

Sincerely,

-Fed up Cubs fans
