PostHeaderIcon Exile on Madison: Canucks 5, Hawks 1

For the second year in a row, the Blackhawks return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Last year on TMS, as Arcturus, I brought you recaps via the Gist on Ice. Now as Goreo, I present to you Exile on Madison, which is essentially the same thing, only with a snazzy new name.

(And yes, the picture to the right is Nikolai Khabibulin, and yes, I do know he's no longer a Hawk. Every time the Hawks lose, I picture an angry, drunken Khabibulin hurling pucks at his television in a frenzied rage, hence the picture, to be used whenever the Hawks lose a game).

Saturday's game totally sucked. From minute one, this Blackhawks team did not look like the same team that just beat the Nashville Predators. They didn't even look like the same young team that went deeper than expected in the playoffs last year. They weren't aggressive. They seemed intimidated by the Canucks. Their young goalie had an off-day and they couldn't pick him up. All in all, Game One of Round Two was a complete disaster. The Hawks needed a five on three power play just to score on Roberto Luongo. If they play like this for the rest of the series, they're done. And deservedly so. Game Two tonight is a must win.
