PostHeaderIcon Castro Shines in Debut

As everyone knows by now, Starlin Castro had his coming out party in Cincinnati last night. A three-run homer in his first big league at-bat, along with a three-run triple for good measure, catapulted the young phenom straight into Cooperstown. Well, his hat and jersey will make it to the Hall at least, given that he set an MLB record with six RBI in a debut.

Obviously this stellar performance was an anomaly, and us Cub fans should temper our enthusiasm. But damn it feels good to see a home-grown youngster do well in this organization. Hopefully Castro and Colvin (and eventually Cashner) will be able to hold their own, and finally exorcise those prospect demons of the past.
