PostHeaderIcon ESPN Hires Doug Glanville

In an effort to convince viewers that Baseball Tonight is still a respectable product, ESPN has hired former Cub Doug Glanville as a studio analyst. In addition to his on-air expertise, Glanville will bolster the talent pool on ESPN.com and ESPN The Magazine (which no one honestly reads).

Unlike virtually all former Major League Baseball players, Glanville brings a college education to the table. His polished eloquence will surely complement John Kruk's sophomoric buffoonery. His calm demeanor may help ease Aaron Boone's transition from the playing field to the studio. His indifference to sex will be welcomed by the Human Resources team. By all accounts, Glanville is a model citizen, and it's always good to see a Cub prosper when his playing days are behind him. We just wish it would have been the MLB Network that came calling first.
